Here’s an excerpt from last night’s Larry King/Chris Rock interview on CNN:
KING: You must be … proud that at this stage in our history a black man is running for president on a major ticket.
ROCK: Um, you know what? I’m proud Barack Obama’s running for president. You know? If it was Flavor Flav, would I [...]

To fully become the transformational leader we need, Obama must demonstrate to the American people his capacity for indignation — for the kind of ferocious passion that fueled King and Nelson Mandela. He has to fight fire with fire, and wield anger in the service of [...]

This election ain’t gonna be no stroll into the White House for the Obama/Biden ticket. The Republican Party has lots of resources at its disposal eg. money, whiteness, a well-oiled political machine, forked tongues… They have an inordinate amount of concentrated power and influence, and possess a win-at-all-costs attitude. They are not going to relinquish power w/o a serious [...]

Ol’ girl did her thang. She did what she HAD to do – politically speaking – and not a bit more…
She mentioned/talked up Obama at the beginning of her speech
She gave warm ”sisterly” props to Queen Michelle Obama
She situated the latest chapter of her own political narrative inside the broader context of the movement for Women’s Rights
She called out her most ardent [...]

She killed it!!! Go on sista!!! She was poised, confident, authentic, charismatic, and warm. She did an excellent job of connecting the Obama biography to that of the everyday American biography. She was also able to effectively capture/articulate the aspirations of women across all colors, social stations, and generations. Did I mention that the sista looked GR8!!! [...]

1. The big news from the weekend: ”Obama Picks Biden As Running Mate”. This was a smart/prudent choice on the part of Brotha Obama. Why? I’ll tell you…
He’s experienced (sat on/chaired the Senate Judiciary Committe and the [...]
